Check for Anti-virus program and Personal Firewall
 
  1. Look at the bottom right hand side of the monitor screen, where there is the computer time display. Beside the time, there will be some small icons as shown below.



 
 
  1. Place your mouse cursor over each one of the icons, one at a time (no need to click) and a name will be displayed. Look for "Zone Alarm" and / or "PC-Cillin".
Zone Alarm (Personal Firewall)
  1. For "Zone Alarm", this is a personal firewall installed on your PC. This may be the cause of the liveprices not being able to display.
  2. If you would like to disable "Zone Alarm", place your mouse cursor over the icon and right click.
  3. A menu should display and you can choose "Disable Zone Alarm" to switch this service off temporarily.
  4. Then try to access liveprices again after clearing your temporary internet files.
  5. You do not have to turn off the Zone alarm if you configure it to allow POEMS liveprices.

 
PC-Cillin (Anti-Virus Program)
  1. PC-Cillin is an anti-virus software installed on your PC.
  2. The default of this particular anti-virus scan is to filter out Java Applets and some java components and thus the non-display of liveprices.
  3. If you would like to turn-off PC-Cillin scanning, place your mouse cursor over the icon and right click.
  4. A menu should display and depending on the version you are using, make the following selections:
    • Stop Real-Time Scan
    • Exit PC-Cillin

    OR
    • Remove the dot selection next to:
    • Real-time scan
    • Web-filters
    • Web-security
    • Turn-off PC-Cillin

  5. After the above steps are done to "Turn-off" PC-Cillin, the "PC-Cillin" icon should disappear.
  6. You may turn on the PC-Cillin later when you are not using POEMS so that it may resume the virus scan and detection.
