What if I choose not to use 2FA for trading through Phillip Securities?
In general, single-factor password authentication is more susceptible to password-based attacks and malware that could result in the compromise and hijacking of online trading accounts by unauthorized parties. This could in turn lead to unauthorized disclosure of your personal and trading information that may be available on the online trading account, or the carrying out of fraudulent trades through your online trading account. Choosing not to use 2FA for the online trading account would increase your exposure to these risks.

What is Risk Warning Statement (RWS)?
MAS notes that foreign-listed investment products, including EIPs, may carry a different set of risks and different levels of protection for investors from those offered locally. MAS will therefore require intermediaries to warn retail customers of the possible risks prior to the customer’s first purchase of a foreign-listed investment product starting from 28 Feb 2013, as well as to obtain the customer’s acknowledgement on the risk warning disclosure.
A risk warning disclosure highlights the key risks that customers should be aware of before trading in overseas-listed investment products. These include differences in legal systems, regulatory regime, political, social and economic developments as well as differences in costs, counterparty and correspondent broker risks between the foreign jurisdictions and Singapore.

How are the Performance Returns and Annualised Performance Returns of funds derived?
Performance Returns are derived based on the past NAV of the fund. It expresses the total returns you would have achieved on your principal investment had you been invested in the fund for that period of time.
For example, the 3 Year Return of a fund will be derived from the
difference between the latest NAV and the NAV of the fund 3 years ago. If
the latest NAV of a fund is SGD1.848 and the NAV of the same fund 3 years
ago is SGD1.725, then the Performance Return is:
This means that the total returns you would have gained on your principal investment, had you been invested since 3 years ago, is 7.13%.
The Annualised Performance Returns expresses the annualised (yearly) returns on your principal investment had you been invested in the fund for that period of time. It only applies for periods of more than 1 year (i.e. there is no annualised performance return for periods of 1 week, 1 month, 3 months etc.)

What is the meaning of (Acc) or (Dis) which is sometimes seen in the names of some funds?
“Acc” and “Dis” are abbreviations of the words “Accumulation” and “Distribution”, which denote classes of the fund.
Accumulation funds do not distribute dividends. Instead, all income and interest attributable to this Class will be accumulated and reflected in the price (NAV) of the units of the Class.
Distribution funds distribute dividends either by cash payout or by reinvesting back into the fund. For transactions with Phillip, where distributions are in the form of cash, they will be re-invested to the same fund by default. The dividends will be reinvested in the form of additional units in your relevant holdings.
If you prefer to have your dividends paid out in cash, you may choose the dividend payout option in POEMS 2.0 when you subscribe for the fund online. If you do not wish to transact through POEMS 2.0 or wish to change your existing dividend options, please fill in this form.

Why is my limit or market order not done when the market opens at 9.30am (EST) and why is my executed price different from the opening price shown on POEMS?
All the orders received prior to market open will be routed and protected versus the stock’s primary listing exchange market opening print. There may be a delay in the opening for certain stocks in the primary exchange which results in these counters not opening at 9.30am sharp.
However, you may still see transactions executed off the primary exchange before the official open, and these transactions are required to be reported under US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulation. Any activities taking place prior to the primary market open that is reported to the tape are from alternative display facilities or dark pools. These trades are reported to the tape because under SEC rules, every stock transaction must be reported to a consolidated data feed, whether it occurs on an exchange, like the Nasdaq or Intercontinental Exchange Inc’s (ICE.N) New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), or in a dark pool. Off-exchange trades are reported through Trade Reporting Facilities (TRFs) run by Nasdaq and NYSE in conjunction with FINRA.
Similarly, the high and low of the day for certain counters may be executed off the primary exchange and may not be taken as official primary executed prices.

Phillip CFD amalgamates buy and sell contracts of the same counter traded on the same day.
Note: Trades amalgamation is only available for certain CFD Products. Please refer to Phillip CFD site for more information.

My CFD account is suspended. What should I do?
