Every day, POEMS ChartWhiz automatically identifies up to 10 bullish and bearish stocks with interesting developments based on technical and fundamental analysis and back-tested strategies. Each stock has a dashboard with educational commentary that details why the stock was selected.

Click the chart icon to open up a bigger chart with the latest data where you can see the technical event and the price movement following the event. Scroll through different time periods to explore the data.

Click the information icon to find general company information and a snapshot of fundamental data that indicates how they are doing.

To get more information on the underlying strategy behind the featured stock and to see how that strategy has performed historically, click the back-testing button. Here you will find a list of filters and criteria that make up the strategy, you can also see the results of a mock portfolio showing up to five years of data as if you have traded similar stocks using this strategy.

Use the custom settings to customise these to your style. You can sort and filter your preferences with technical and fundamental categories and criteria. Stay on top of the results by setting up alerts to ensure that you get notified by email or any updates or new ideas.

Interested in what other investors are doing? Look for trade ideas on the home screen below Featured Ideas. You will see the most viewed stocks showing bullish and bearish technical events from the previous week that have been viewed by most people. The Most Followed Instruments shows the stocks that are being followed by most people and whether more people believe it to be bullish or bearish.

Alerts

As the markets shift and securities rise and fall, your portfolio might get out of balance and you may need to make changes to your investments. To ensure you stay on target with your investment goals, it is important you are always aware of where your investments stand. With POEMS ChartWhiz you can automate the monitoring of your investments by setting up alerts to notify you when an event of significance happens to any of your holdings.

Alerts are system-generated emails that notify you when events of significance occur on any of your instruments.

Pre-set Alerts

Pre-set alerts are email alerts sent to you automatically by the system a few hours after market close, when events of significance occur. Currently, you can choose to receive pre-set alerts for the following markets:

  1. Singapore
  2. US
  3. Hong Kong
  4. Malaysia

By default, we switch on pre-set alerts for Singapore market for you when you access ChartWhiz for the first time. You can turn it off by clicking on ‘Turn Off Alert’ on the Alerts page.

Custom Alerts

You may also customise the alerts you receive. On the Alerts page, click ‘+ Add Custom Alert’ and select the type of alerts you wish to receive. You can choose to receive the following types of alerts:

  1. New Opportunities
Technical Event® opportunities across a market or an industry looking for those that match your specific criteria.

  2. Watch Lists
These alerts watch instruments that you have identified for any Technical Event® opportunities. You may be looking for information to time your entry into an investment that you consider interesting, or you may want to be notified of any adverse moves for investments that are already in your portfolio.

  3. Symbols
These alerts have each been set up for a single instrument. All alerts for a given instrument are presented together, so you can see the entire picture of what you are tracking. The following alert types are available:

Technical Event® Opportunity Alerts notify you when events matching the criteria you have specified are found for the given instrument. You may be looking for events that suggest that it is time to enter or exit a position.

Price Threshold Alerts notify you when the price for the given instrument crosses a specific level, either in an upward or downward direction.

  4. Stops
With stop alerts, you will automatically be notified when you should consider exiting a position due to an adverse price movement (e.g. sell a stock that you hold when the price starts dropping) either to minimize losses or to capture gains that have been made on the position. The significant difference between stop alerts and price threshold alerts is that the system automatically updates the price level for stops each night, whereas other price threshold alerts are set at a fixed price level. The “Symbols” tab includes stop alerts so that you can see all alerts for a given symbol in one place.

Conclusion

POEMS ChartWhiz provides you with unique investment analysis that will help in your investment and trading decisions. The tool is set up so you can easily navigate through to quickly find trade ideas, validate recent trade opportunities, or have it automatically monitor your instruments for you.

Understanding the technical analysis perspective of your instruments and being notified of significant changes are key to making successful investment choices. POEMS ChartWhiz can give you greater confidence and insight in your investment decisions.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

This material is provided by Phillip Capital Management (S) Ltd (“PCM”) for general information only and does not constitute a recommendation, an offer to sell, or a solicitation of any offer to invest in any of the exchange-traded fund (“ETF”) or the unit trust (“Products”) mentioned herein. It does not have any regard to your specific investment objectives, financial situation and any of your particular needs. You should read the Prospectus and the accompanying Product Highlights Sheet (“PHS”) for key features, key risks and other important information of the Products and obtain advice from a financial adviser (“FA“) pursuant to a separate engagement before making a commitment to invest in the Products. In the event that you choose not to obtain advice from a FA, you should assess whether the Products are suitable for you before proceeding to invest. A copy of the Prospectus and PHS are available from PCM, any of its Participating Dealers (“PDs“) for the ETF, or any of its authorised distributors for the unit trust managed by PCM.

An ETF is not like a typical unit trust as the units of the ETF (the “Units“) are to be listed and traded like any share on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (“SGX-ST”). Listing on the SGX-ST does not guarantee a liquid market for the Units which may be traded at prices above or below its NAV or may be suspended or delisted. Investors may buy or sell the Units on SGX-ST when it is listed. Investors cannot create or redeem Units directly with PCM and have no rights to request PCM to redeem or purchase their Units. Creation and redemption of Units are through PDs if investors are clients of the PDs, who have no obligation to agree to create or redeem Units on behalf of any investor and may impose terms and conditions in connection with such creation or redemption orders. Please refer to the Prospectus of the ETF for more details.

Investments are subject to investment risks including the possible loss of the principal amount invested. The purchase of a unit in a fund is not the same as placing your money on deposit with a bank or deposit-taking company. There is no guarantee as to the amount of capital invested or return received. The value of the units and the income accruing to the units may fall or rise. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of the future or likely performance of the Products. There can be no assurance that investment objectives will be achieved.

Where applicable, fund(s) may invest in financial derivatives and/or participate in securities lending and repurchase transactions for the purpose of hedging and/or efficient portfolio management, subject to the relevant regulatory requirements. PCM reserves the discretion to determine if currency exposure should be hedged actively, passively or not at all, in the best interest of the Products.

The regular dividend distributions, out of either income and/or capital, are not guaranteed and subject to PCM’s discretion. Past payout yields and payments do not represent future payout yields and payments. Such dividend distributions will reduce the available capital for reinvestment and may result in an immediate decrease in the net asset value (“NAV”) of the Products. Please refer to <www.phillipfunds.com> for more information in relation to the dividend distributions.
