Your Favourite Quarterly Event with POEMS is Back!

About Strategy & Stock Picks

Strategy & Stock Picks is a quarterly event organised specially for investors to gain professional insights into the outlook of the SG, CN & HK, US, MY, TH and ID markets.

Through this specially curated event, we hope investors can better plan ahead and invest in companies that suit their investment strategies and goals.

Our analysts expect the sluggish global backdrop to be more prolonged than in the past. With inflation still stubborn, this will translate to slowing monetary easing than previous cycles and worsening global downturns. Their strategy is to be defensive through REITs with their higher duration yield while favouring local banks for their attractive dividend yield, and excess capital.

Thailand Market

Chutikan Santimetvirul | Head of Equity Strategy | Phillip Securities (Thailand) PCL

Adisorn Mungparnchon | Assistant Vice President | Phillip Securities (Thailand) PCL

The Thai economy is in recovery mode, supported by easing inflation and the prospect of interest rate hikes coming to an end. As such, we can anticipate further positive earnings results from listed firms in Thailand, following the growth experienced in the first half of this year, despite the risk of global recessions and Thailand’s political situation in the wake of the general election.

The face of the new government, which will help move the country and economy forward, remains to be seen. Thai stocks are expected to ride the wave of positive expectations, despite volatile domestic and international situations. Stock investment themes for 3QFY23 should be associated with the prospect of economic growth, led by consumption, tourism and production relocation, while Depository Receipts (DRs) of AOT, CPALL and PTTEP should also be in focus.
