How does it work?

  1. Once you have opted in, excess funds in POEMS Account with a minimum balance of SGD100 will be automatically invested into Phillip Money Market Fund.
  2. The said fund will be automatically redeemed from the facility under any of the following scenarions:
    • (i) for shares payment or other investment purchases or transactional fees charged
    • (ii) funds withdrawal request by account holder

This facility is available for Cash Plus Account, Margin Account, Cash Management Account, Prepaid Account and Custodian Account

No, you are not required to maintain a minimum balance in your account. However, to enjoy the returns of Excess Funds Management, a minimum balance of $100 needs to be maintained in your account.

No, there are no sales charges or administrative fees imposed for Excess Funds Management facility.

However, there may be fees and charges levied on the underlying funds.

While Phillip Money Market Fund is not principal guaranteed, it has not experienced any default since its inception in 2001. The fund’s credit management process is designed to select the highest quality debt issued by the highest quality companies, while managing liquidity of the Fund.

The investment mandate of Excess Funds Management underlying fund, Phillip Money Market Fund and Phillip US Dollar Money Market Fund A, is to preserve the fund’s principal value and maintain a high degree of liquidity while producing returns comparable to savings deposits. It is required by this mandate to invest only in its intended currency. Thus, the fund is not allowed to take any currency risks.
