Short Selling
How should I indicate my short sell orders?
Scenario:
- You do not own any share of Stock A and you intend to short sell 1,000 shares of Stock A. You have to submit a sell order of 1,000 shares by marking the “Short Sell” checkbox or click on the “Short Sell” button.
- You owned 2,000 shares of Stock A and you intend to short sell another 1,000 shares of Stock A. You have to submit a normal sell order of 2,000 shares, and separately submit another sell order of 1,000 shares by clicking on the “Short” on POEMS web 2.0 or “Short Sell” button on POEMS Mobile.
Before placing a short sell trade:
- You may Login to POEMS account > Account Mgmt > SBL > Script Borrowing to check the availability of shares for borrowing and submit a Request to Borrow Shares.
- Alternatively, you may contact your trading representative to check the availability of shares for borrowing
